Do planetary cycles explain market direction?
The tested oscillator did not show a reliable relationship.
The verdict
✕ FAILEDThe tested oscillator did not show a reliable relationship.
What we tried
The original Event Horizon project explored whether planetary positions could describe market mood. We revisited a tension/harmony oscillator and checked it against random dates and later periods.
What happened
The 7-day version had a 55% hit rate versus 54% on random days in the historical 2019–2025 test, then 38% in the later test. The 30/60-day and alt-season versions stayed near zero; the best reported p-value was 0.28 and the sign changed by year.
What this means
This oscillator did not establish a reliable link. Many possible formulas can be tried, so selecting a lucky-looking one after seeing the results would not resolve the problem.
Evidence record
Published figures are from the original experiment summaries and the approved research handoff, dated October 7, 2026. They describe the implementation tested, not every version of the underlying idea.
